London – (Publication Date: 1 December 2025) – The 2025 issue of the international academic research journal Transcendent Philosophy Volume 26, Number 37 has been published by the London Academy of Iranian Studies (LAIS), presenting to the global intellectual community a rich collection of articles by distinguished scholars from Iran, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Kashmir.

Founded in London in 2000, the journal has long been recognised as a vital bridge for philosophical and mystical discourse between Iran, the West, and the East. The new issue comprises 306 pages and includes twelve research articles in English, exploring compelling themes such as comparative philosophy, mysticism, spiritual psychology, and Islamic studies.

Editorial Board and Thematic Focus

Transcendent Philosophy draws on an eminent international editorial board and positions itself at the forefront of intellectual inquiry. Members of the editorial board include: Seyyed Hossein Nasr, William Chittick, James Morris, Seyyed Mohammad Khamenei, Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad, Reza Davari, Gholamreza Aavani, Shahram Pazouki, Hermann Landolt, and Sayyed Sadr al-din Safavi.

Seyed Salman Safavi, a Neo-Sadrian philosopher and the founder of the London Academy of Iranian Studies, serves as the journal’s Editor-in-Chief.

This issue places particular emphasis on the following themes:

  • Comparative Philosophy: Examining the thought of Islamic philosophers (such as al-Farabi, Avicenna, Mulla Sadra, Allameh Tabatabaei, and Safavi) in contrast or dialogue with Western philosophers (such as Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, and Plato).

  • Mysticism and Spirituality: Investigating the role of mysticism in psychology and literature (including analyses of Viktor Frankl’s ideas and the poetry of Hafez and Saadi).

  • Philosophy of Religion and Ethics: Analytical studies on the relationship between ethics and jurisprudence, and the concept of identity.
