Information for Contributors

Transcendent Philosophy: An International Journal For Comparative Philosophy And Mysticism is an academic peer-reviewed journal published by the London Academy of Iranian Studies (LAIS). The journal aims to create a dialogue between Eastern, Western, and Islamic Philosophy and Mysticism and is published annually in December. Contributions to Transcendent Philosophy do not necessarily reflect the views of the editorial board or LAIS.

Scope of Contributions

Contributors are invited to submit papers on the following topics:

  • Comparative studies on Islamic, Eastern, and Western schools of Philosophy
  • Philosophical issues in the history of Philosophy
  • Issues in contemporary Philosophy
  • Epistemology, Philosophy of Mind, and Cognitive Science
  • Philosophy of Science (Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Psychology, etc.)
  • Logic and Philosophical Logic
  • Philosophy of Language
  • Ethics and Moral Philosophy
  • Theology and Philosophy of Religion
  • Sufism and Mysticism
  • Eschatology
  • Political Philosophy
  • Philosophy of Art and Metaphysics
  • Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence

Submission Guidelines

Articles and Book Reviews

Articles and book reviews should be submitted via email to Dr. S. G. Safavi, Editor of Transcendent Philosophy, at philosophy@iranianstudies.org. Publishers should send books for review to the Editor. Non-philosophical and non-mystical works are not reviewed.

Submission Format

  • Submissions should be made via email with the subject line: “Article Submission – [Title of Article].”
  • Manuscripts must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Articles should be in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced.
  • Citations should follow the APA Style (7th edition).
  • Submissions should include an abstract (100–300 words) and 5-7 keywords.
  • Authors must provide a separate title page including their full name, institutional affiliation, email address, and competing interests statement.
  • Upon acceptance of the manuscript, authors are required to sign the official publishing agreement, granting the journal exclusive commercial rights while retaining copyright.

  • Title of the article
  • Author’s full name & academic affiliation
  • Abstract (100-300 words)
  • Keywords (5-7 words)
  • Introduction
  • Main body (with at least three subtitles)
  • Conclusion
  • References & bibliography
  • Endnotes (if applicable)
  • Biographical note (author’s name, email, institutional affiliation, and research interests)

Peer Review

Transcendent Philosophy uses a double-anonymous peer-review process, meaning the identities of editors, reviewers, and authors are kept confidential.

Citation & Referencing Style (APA 7th Edition)

Citations should follow APA Style. Examples:

Open Access and Copyright:

  • Authors retain copyright while granting Transcendent Philosophy: An International Journal For Comparative Philosophy And Mysticism and London Academy of Iranian Studies the exclusive right to commercialize the Work.
  • Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license.

Competing Interests

All authors must disclose any competing interests.

Proofs and Corrections

Only typographical errors may be corrected in proofs. Authors must submit any corrections immediately upon receiving their acceptance letter.

Editorial Rights

The Publisher reserves the right to edit, format, and modify submissions for clarity, grammar, and consistency with journal standards.

Substantive changes affecting meaning will be made in consultation with the author.

The Editors reserve the right to reject or revise manuscripts that do not adhere to these guidelines.
